What it is
The treatment, explained without jargon.
Botox is a purified neuromodulator (botulinum toxin type A) that temporarily relaxes the small facial muscles responsible for dynamic lines, the ones that form when you frown, raise your brows, or smile. The active ingredient blocks the signal between nerve and muscle for 3 to 4 months, after which the muscle gradually returns to baseline.
Our approach at Northrop is conservative. Dr. Northrop treats the muscle, not the face, typical sessions use 20 to 50 units across multiple injection points, placed to soften without flattening expression. Most patients leave with a refreshed look that no one can quite name. That is the goal.
